Ch-ch-changes

OK, there have been a lot of recent changes, including the testing of a new text entry editor, which works on the basis of applying what you want out of a series of safe choices.  It may look a little strange, but I thought we should at least give it a try to see if it prevents problems like the rogue DIVs. Not all the features are activated, but I’m working on it.

Also, try out some new features, like the Add-to-any button that adds a page to your favourites on various blog networking type sites; or the Nudge button that allows you to remind someone to followup on something they’ve been working on.

Note:  Nudging me just because I haven’t written anything worth mentioning for months is NOT a healthy option.

Anyway, there are also a lot of changes in the back end of the site that I won’t mention now, but this site’s integration with syndicators like Technorati and Feedburner are improving.

Try things out, they should work fine, but don’t panic if something breaks, I’ll be standing by if I get any screaming emails.

Testing… Wow, Icon. Shocked I’m picturing you right now as some bald guy with muscular arms, a tight white T-shirt, and an earring. Cool As in: gets the hard work done in the background as if by magic. Sticking out tongue Evil

I’ve just posted a blog entry Eye using the new (temporary?) text editor. Worked like a charm. Paragraph formatting is working (at least the options I used appear to be functional); and so are italics & boldface, along with hyperlinking. I was unable to get superscript to work, though (and I tried BBCode, html and the editor option). Perhaps that’s to do with the tags you suppressed, though, because they refused to show up with the previous editor, too (that was this afternoon). Oh: and for some reason, paragraphs starting with a ” have their quote outdented slightly.

I find it easy to use. Basic options on top; paragraph formatting down the side. That’s pretty much all it should take…

Perhaps it indeed is a good idea to implement a simpler editor for comments and a more advanced one for blogs & WIPs & Works. In this comments editor, only html tags appear to work (see? html boldface); BBCode tags do not show up (for now, no BBCode italics). That’s a temporary solution, most likely, but it’s been flagged now.

This simpler editor is easy to use, too.

Oh: and lol @ “nudge”. Know what I mean? he asked knowingly…
