Book Discussion: Cabinet of Curiosities
The Cabinet of Curiosities by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child
I’m a big fan of these guys because their books are quick reads and involve history.
If you are interested, pick up a copy and we can read along, talk about the characters and parts of the book we find most interesting.
Sometimes it’s easier to do book discussion in the forums if we only post about topics up to a certain chapter or pick a starting date that way we don’t spoil it for others.
Let me know how you want to do this and when you would like to start.

OK, I’ll have a book store
OK, I’ll have a book store order a copy tomorrow. Don’t know about availability, though, so I they might tell me to wait a week or two before their delivery man shows up.

Muahahahahahahahaha
It should be easy to get a copy in paperback.Â
Yeah, that’s it.

You guys pick a date...
You guys pick a date to start. Anytime is good for me - I’ve already read "Cabinet" but it was a couple years ago so I’ll give it a quick re-read and I’ll be good to go.
‘Course WD will probably finish before me anyway… Damn those Charlie’s Angels!  They’re like superheroes! International espionage, social and environmental consciousness, speed reading… and all whilst battling the flu. Man…
Yes, but shave the leg hair
Yes, but shave the leg hair and I buckle like Sampson.
(Thank God Cory doesn’t make a pretty Delilah) - *smooches, dear hub*Â
Yeah, that’s it.

LOL
LOL
Is leg shaving mandatory on LM?!? Canadian girls don’t shave until June or so - can’t wear shorts ‘till then anyway. We then stop at the end of August. It’s warmer that way - you kind of create your own permanent long underwear.

I completely agree with you
I completely agree with you on the long underwear thing.Â
My copy of CoC will arrive in two weeks. How about we start reading the 17th (a Monday)? Do we discuss particular chapters or just read through the whole book and post whatever comments we come up with? Â

Hey, I picked up my copy
Hey, I picked up my copy yesterday, and started reading, and then I realized we we’re supposed to wait, lol. Â It’s okay, I’m only about 10 pages in.

Go ahead and read. I’ve
Go ahead and read. I’ve already finished. I think we should do the first two sections and discuss. That’s about 200 pages. But whatever you guys want to do after you get the book is fine with me. Let me know. Â
Yeah, that’s it.

Just wondering… Could
Just wondering…
Could we wait and discuss at the end? Because I’ve read it before, I’m kind of afraid of giving things away unintentionally and I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. If we want to discuss in sections, though, I’ll try my best to remember what I can comment on.
 I wanted to stop reading
I wanted to stop reading it, I really did…but I couldn’t put it down…I mean, I did eventually when the cold medicine made me pass out.  And it’s so good! And I’m glad there aren’t any spoilers…it’s so funny, because it’s killing me not to look it up on Wiki or somewhere to find out what the deal is with the characters, but I’m being so good.
